Disabled students and reasonable adjustments
Adjustments for exams
If you have a condition or disability and need reasonable adjustments for alternative exam arrangements to be put in place (for example extra time, a scribe or a separate room), contact the Disability Service as early as possible, preferably before the start of your course.
Don’t assume that arrangements will be made automatically
Even if you have had individual exam arrangements in the past
Even if you know that the University is aware of your illness, impairment or specific learning difficulty
Particularly if you have had time out or transferred programme.
Getting your Alternative Arrangements for exams
Acute/short-term conditions
The exams office cannot make arrangements without a Reasonable Adjustments Page (RAP) being in place
Please contact your module leader or programme coordinator, who can discuss your needs with you.
Class tests
Class tests are the responsibility of your teaching division/school. Make sure that you let your module tutor know that you have a RAP in place well before any class test so that arrangements can be made.
