Funding your course

SAAS applications for funding for 2025/2026 are now open

There are options available to help with course fees and the cost of study depending on your course and fee status.

If applying for funding support from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland or your Local Education Authority, you need to apply before each year of study – not just the first year. If repeating a year, you may be eligible for an additional year of support from SAAS.

If you are coming to study in Scotland but normally live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you will apply to your relevant Local Education Authority,

If you are an Irish or UK national who is ordinarily resident in the Republic of Ireland on the relevant date and you are moving to Scotland to study in the academic year 2025 to 2026, visit the SAAS EU Tuition Fee Loan page for your eligibility for funding and how to apply. For living cost costs please apply to your relevant Local Education Authority.
