Airport pick-up service

We offer a free Airport Taxi Service for international students arriving at Glasgow International Airport. This service is only available to new international students studying on full-time programmes at GCU starting in May 2026.

Registration process

You will register online and fill in the form with the date you arrive, provide details of your arrival time, as well as select a drop-off point in Glasgow City Centre.

Dropoff is only available to the points listed when registering.

From here you can access public transport including buses, trains and subway, or arrange your own taxi for the rest of the journey.

When you arrive at Glasgow International Airport, report to the Taxi Information desk, located opposite the main check in desks within the main terminal building.

Please Note you are able to book 1 taxi only, for you and your luggage. If you need an additional taxi for family or extra luggage you will need to arrange this separately and pay for this.

Public Transport

For students not eligible to use our taxi service, there is a shuttle bus which runs from the airport to the bus station in the city - please make sure you have the correct money to cover the fare (approx £13). You may need to provide proof of student status (offer letter) in order to obtain a student rate. The bus station in the city centre is directly across the road from The University.
