Mental Health Matters

We recognise that starting University can be an exciting time that brings many opportunities. Preparing to start University can also bring moments of stress and anxiety.

The Disability team, in collaboration with the wider Student Wellbeing team, deliver this session that aims to provide:

  • A smoother transition to incoming students from school or college
  • Advice and guidance for looking after your mental health at University.

The programme is delivered over one half-day session, in a small group setting on campus. Topics covered include:

  • An introduction to the Student Wellbeing Service at GCU
  • Disability support and reasonable adjustments
  • Stress, relaxation, and self-care
  • Counselling provision
  • A campus tour – including information about quieter spaces on campus.

This session is open to all new students who have accepted an offer from Glasgow Caledonian University. If you have disclosed a mental health condition on your course application, you will automatically be invited to this session.
