Costs and funding
You will have to budget for the following costs:
- Accommodation £870
- Visa fee
- Return flights
- Personal expenditures (students will be provided with breakfast and up to five meals per week)
- Travel insurance
However, the successful applicant will receive a grant towards the costs of the programme.
The student selected will also be eligible to apply for any travel scholarships or funding offered by GCU, such as the Santander or Sir Alex Ferguson Travel Awards. Scholarships are subject to an application process and availability.

About BUV
The programme is held by our partner institution British University Vietnam (BUV). BUV’s state-of-the-art campus is located in the Ecopark urban area on the outskirts of Hanoi, served by frequent bus services to the city centre. The campus boasts spacious and iconic designs, offering international-standard educational experiences to students with modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology. BUV boasts a network of more than 500 enterprise partners in various fields and supports students to gain professional knowledge and practical skills to develop their careers after graduation.

Programme overview
The four-week programme aims to expose international students to the vibrant traditions, customs, language, and daily life of Vietnamese people. It offers students a unique opportunity to not only broaden perspectives but also enrich personal growth and global awareness. By immersing themselves in a new environment, students develop adaptability, intercultural communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for diversity.

Programme costs
Roughly £160 (250,000 KRW) admin fee, cost of flights and any personal expenditures.
Available spaces
Three GCU students are covered by a scholarship (waiving tuition and all the fees related to accommodation, meals, and field trips, which amount to $1,500 in total). Even when receiving a full scholarship, students are still responsible for independently covering the administration fee, airfare and personal expenditures.
Eligibility
Students from any year and any discipline are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Priority will be given to students who are from a disadvantaged background.

Hansung University has an excellent location close to the historic and cultural hub of the capital city, Seoul. Founded in 1945, the University presently serves approximately 6,700 undergraduate students and 840 graduate students enrolled in four colleges (College of Arts, College of Engineering, College of Social Science and College of Humanities)

Programme overview
Hansung University International Summer School is designed for students who are interested in learning about Korean culture. HISS School proudly offers exchange students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about the rich culture and history from the distinguished members of their faculty. Also on offer are numerous hands-on activities and field trips organized by the experienced Summer School directors and staff. Perhaps the most important thing is a friendship that blossoms among students from all over the world. These bonds are something students cherish for the rest of their lives.
