Kind hearted student offers free IT services during COVID-19 outbreak
A GCU student has offered free IT and website services until the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
Fourth year Computing student Stewart McCafferty, who operates his own website development service alongside his studies, has decided to offer free website hosting and maintenance services during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Stewart decided to offer these free services as a way to help others during this difficult time. He said: “I have always believed in helping people; it was just the way I was raised.
Times like this call for us to come closer together and I know everyone in the UK is struggling both emotionally and financially. I believe it’s the right thing to do because now, more than ever, we need to come together and lots of businesses have to rely on their website traffic.”
Stewart also believes that it’s important for students to use their skills and knowledge to try and help other people during a time like this. He said: “I believe it’s very important for students to use their skills to help others.
Not only will it help us, but it will also help expand our skill set and do something for our communities.”
