Chuma wants to combine his leadership experience with teamwork in his new role

Newly appointed Vice President of the Glasgow School for Business and Society Chuma Egbujor has started his post as Full Time Officer, after being elected in the 2022 Student’s Association elections.

We spoke to Chuma and heard how excited he is to welcome back students to campus in September – there was also some chat about pineapple juice, spicy chicken and Miami for good measure!

How did it feel to get elected?

“I feel great being given the opportunity to serve my fellow students as a Vice President at the Student’s Association.”

What aspect of the role excites you the most?

The chance to improve GCU students’ academic knowledge and welfare, coupled with the overall experience gives me great pleasure.”

Is there anything in particular you want to achieve this year?

“I have written down a list of manifesto points and I look forward to accomplishing them within my limited time in office.”

What will you bring to the role of VP?

“I’ve held leadership positions in the past, including at GCU, and I intend to use this experience along with teamwork in my new role.”

With the pandemic now at an end, how excited are you to see more students on campus this year?

I am super excited to see students fully return to campus and look forward to making the process a smooth one for them.”

Place of birth?

“I was born in Owerri, south eastern Nigeria.”

Favourite food?

“My favourite food is fried rice, grilled spicy chicken and salad with lots of cream.”

Favourite drink?

“I would appreciate a glass of chilled pineapple juice anytime.”

Your dream holiday?

“I dream of a summer vacation to Miami Beach, Florida.”

If you could go to dinner with one celebrity, who would it be?

“If I could go to dinner with a celebrity, it would be Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for her remarkable talent in novel writing.”

Interesting fact about yourself...

“I am extremely adventurous and always crave the opportunity to explore new challenges.”
