STEAM Ambassadors

The STEAM Ambassador scheme is a UK-wide network with hubs across the country linking schools with STEAM educators and industry. GCU supports students in engaging with STEAM activity through the Scotland hub SSERC either face-to-face or virtually.
The scheme offers the opportunity to develop the following Common Good attributes:

  • Active and global citizenship
  • Confidence
  • Responsible leadership

What’s involved?

As a STEAM Ambassador, you can get involved in a wide variety of activities, all of which can have an impact on young people’s learning and enjoyment of STEAM subjects, including:

  • Supporting lessons by bringing real-world problems for pupils to experience and solve
  • Giving careers talks or helping at careers fairs
  • Providing technical advice to teachers or practical support to STEAM projects in and outside the classroom
