GCU Graduate Internship Programme
FOR POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS:
Funded opportunities to employ a Graduate Intern
Glasgow Caledonian University is offering employers the opportunity to take on an Intern, with the cost of 50% of their salary subsidised by our Graduate Internship Fund.
The fund has been set up as part of our newly established Graduate Programme, MINT (Mentoring, Internships, Networking and Talks), thanks to support from Sir Alex Ferguson CBE. Recognising that this year’s graduates face one of the most challenging and uncertain job markets on record, we want to help give our new graduates the best possible chance of gaining relevant industry experience to strengthen their long term career prospects.
The Graduate Internship Programme provides an affordable way for companies to benefit from the skills and talent of a new Graduate to deliver a fixed term project.
Employer Guidelines:
- Open to SME’s, charities and organisations where GCU alumni are currently employed.
- Internships to be approximately 12 weeks in duration with the intern working on a full-time or part-time basis. (Full-time position based on a 35-hour week).
- The Graduate Internship Fund provides 50% of the intern’s salary (capped at £1,920), with the remaining cost to be met by the company employing the intern.
- Intern salaries to be in line with the UK living wage.
- Eligible companies will advertise internship role specifications on GCU’s Vacancy Service
- The company interviews and selects their chosen candidate via their normal recruitment process.
Companies are invited to register their interest by submitting a completed programme vacancy form to foundation@gcu.ac.uk
