Freshers' week
Freshers' Week takes place every September to welcome our new students to GCU and this year runs from Monday, 7 September to Friday, 11 September.
Working in partnership with GCU Students’ Association, we have lots of exciting events and activities for you to get involved in and we can't wait to tell you more about it soon!
This year’s theme is The Wild West as we celebrate welcoming our new students onto campus and look forward to their exciting student journey at GCU.
Our Freshers' line-up is detailed below:
GCU’s Wild West
Monday, 7 and Tuesday, 8 September

Freshers’ Week is about having fun and meeting new friends. What better way to do that than at GCUs Wild West Freshers’ festivities?
Marvel as we turn campus into the untamed frontier and get involved in our high-stakes games, including:
- Ride the Rodeo Bull
- Bean Can Alley
- Beat the Bandit
- Snake in my boot
- Cactus ring toss
- Many more!
We’ll also have a caricature artist doing “Most Wanted” drawings, as well as candy floss and popcorn vendors to get you all into the Freshers’ spirit!
So giddy-up outlaws, you’re guaranteed to have a rootin’ tootin’ good time!

Freshers’ Fair

The Arc
The GCU Students’ Association ‘Freshers’ Fair’ is your chance to meet all GCU’s sports clubs and societies. From Dungeons and Dragons to Dance, you’ll be sure to find something that suits your interests.

Get ready to dance along to the symphonies this Freshers’ Week with our Zara Larsson and Sabrina Carpenter tribute night.
Please, please, please don’t miss out on this night you’ll never forget at Re:Union Bar and Grill on Tuesday, 8 September.
Make sure you’re not working late because this night won’t just be short n' sweet…
The acts will be covering all the big hits – we know what boys and girls like!
Disney CARS Experience

KACHOW! Cars are coming to GCU Freshers
That’s right… to celebrate 20 years of Disney and Pixar’s Cars, some very special four-wheeled guests are entering campus!
Get the chance to meet the Cars, Lightning McQueen and Mater, and even sit inside them for the best Freshers’ Week photo opportunity!
But that's not all! Our caricaturist will also be on campus, giving you the chance to see yourself transformed into your very own Cars-inspired character.
Whether you’re a mega fan of Cars or just looking for something fun to do during Freshers’, don’t miss your chance to join us for a little nostalgia and plenty of photos.

Our nine-hole mini golf course is the perfect way to unwind after the madness of day one, two and three of Freshers' Week.
Challenge your new classmates to a game. It's free for all GCU students!
