Our Supporting Student Success Scheme has been introduced to support the learning and wellbeing of our students and to help facilitate their well-rounded development. This peer support scheme is a program where trained, more experienced students (Student Ambassadors) help other students navigate academic, wellbeing and practical support.
Target support will be provided to students who have low attendance and above average Fit to Sit submissions. Students will initially receive an email to advise they will receive a call from one of our Student Ambassadors. An initial call will be made and possible follow calls after this.
Students can opt out of this scheme and information on how to do so will be available in the email they receive.
For further information on this scheme please contact supportingstudentsuccess@gcu.ac.uk

Why this scheme matters. Some students disengage quietly - this is about reaching out before things get worse. A simple conversation can help someone feel noticed, supported and more connected to university life. By focusing on students who have low attendance, or regularly submitting Fit to sit, we are offering support to those who need it most The calls can offer the opportunity for students to get the support they need and re engage with their studies.
