Caledonian Court

‌Find your home from home

If joining Glasgow Caledonian University means living away from home, you have two options. You can either apply for a place in Caledonian Court – our on-campus residences – or you can rent privately.

Caledonian Court

Our ‘village within the city’, Caledonian Court, is the perfect place to live if you’re looking for that home-from-home atmosphere. Living at Caledonian Court is an ideal way to make friends with people from all over the world, and our international community includes students from places such as Nigeria, China, Greece, France, Germany and America.

You can apply if you have either a conditional or an unconditional offer from the University. Spaces are limited, and we strongly recommend you apply as early as possible.

Where possible we will also give consideration to commuting distance for students resident in Scotland.

To be considered in the first tranche of accommodation offers, applications must be received by 5 April 2024

For completed applications received before this deadline, students who fit the criteria listed above will be given priority in the allocation of spaces.  If you submit a completed application before the deadline you will be contacted by 26 April 2024.

Any applications received after 5 April 2024 will be considered in the order in which the applications are received applying the above criteria.

For all applicants, please note that we do not guarantee accommodation.  We operate a waiting list for those who are unsuccessful in securing a space, should a room subsequently become available. The priority criteria will also apply to the waiting list.

Situated just across the road from our campus, Caledonian Court is a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the university. Perfect for those early morning lectures, you can roll out of bed at five to nine and still be in the classroom in time for your first tutorial. Plus, the city-centre location means you can also enjoy everything Glasgow has to offer.

Our modern, self-catering accommodation, consisting of 100 flats, houses 660 students. Each self-contained flat has six to eight bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Private en-suite facilities are available in 340 rooms and most rooms are single, with only a few twin rooms.

The flats are wired for the internet and there is a coin operated-laundrette on site. Our gym and health and fitness centre, the Arc, several cafés and campus shops are all close by. Car parking is limited, but you will find the city centre is well served by public transport, including trains, buses, taxis and Glasgow’s famous "Clockwork Orange" underground train system.

We understand that moving away from home can be a huge step, so during your first few weeks living at Caledonian Court, the Accommodation Office staff are on hand to do everything possible to ensure you settle in comfortably and can help you resolve any difficulties you may experience. The office is in the heart of the complex and staff are always available on site throughout your stay to offer any reassurance, advice or support you may need
