We combine innovative teaching and cutting-edge research to produce graduates that make a real difference. We also have strong partnerships with the NHS and industry. These connections help produce graduates who are  valued by employers and ready for a career in health and social care

Our department brings together a wide range of disciplines, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diagnostic imaging, podiatry, radiotherapy and oncology, human nutrition and dietetics, and paramedic science. The department is also host to the BSc Oral Health Science programme accredited by Glasgow Caledonian and delivered at both the Glasgow Dental Hospital and Glasgow Caledonian's campus. This diversity fosters collaboration and creates a rich learning environment where students gain a deep understanding of holistic, person-centred care.

We are proud of our reputation for excellence in professional education. Our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are accredited by the relevant professional bodies, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared for practice and valued by employers worldwide. Students benefit from hands-on learning through state-of-the-art simulation facilities, practice placements, and interprofessional education that mirrors the realities of modern healthcare.

Research is at the heart of what we do. Our staff are internationally recognised for their expertise in areas such as rehabilitation, public health, musculoskeletal health, and data science . By integrating research into our teaching, we ensure that students are exposed to the latest evidence and innovations that shape clinical practice.

Our commitment extends beyond the classroom. We work in partnership with communities, healthcare providers, and global organisations to address health inequalities and improve quality of life. Graduates of the department are not only skilled clinicians but also compassionate, reflective practitioners who are equipped to lead in an evolving healthcare landscape.
