Department of Nursing, Community and Public Health
The Department of Nursing, Community and Public Health brings together academics and clinical staff who have expertise and are passionate about nursing (adult; child; mental health and learning disability) public health, health education, social action and community health.
The ethos of the Department is “improving lives” and therefore all activities aim to improve the lives of its stakeholders in some way.
As part of the School of Health and Life Sciences we have a strong inter-professional education focus which prepares our students for bright futures in the healthcare sector. Our commitment to student focussed, innovative and flexible learning is supported by our state-of-the art facilities which makes learning accessible and exciting for all our students.
We offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD courses in nursing and public health. Our teaching takes place on two of our main campuses in Glasgow and London and we collaborate with partners around the world. We are a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre and have a commitment to student and staff exchanges.
The department has a vibrant research community. Our focus is on advancing practice, innovation and research in Public Health and Long Term Conditions. Our research is clinically focused and is embedded within all our programmes ensuring that our students benefit from the latest standards of care.
