Helena Kelly

Department of Nursing, Community and Public HealthHelena joined the University in August 2015, taking up the post of Lecturer of Adult Nursing and Community Health. Helena has worked within Primary care for just over 20 years and has held a Specialist Practitioner District nurse qualification with Nurse prescribing for 24 years.
Helena’s main areas of expertise within community nursing include complex case management, long-term conditions, palliative and end of life care, tissue viability, leadership and caseload management.
Helena teaches in several modules across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the department.
Helena’s current research interests and involvement include Leadership within nursing the main focus of her professional doctorate thesis. Helena is also involved in research exploring students' experiences of learning during the pandemic as well as an evaluation of the Capacitar programme undertaken by Queens nurses within Scotland.
Helena is interested in all areas of digital literacy and keen user of X/Twitter and social media to enhance learning.
