Students celebrate final projects at annual Caledonian Creates event
Students from the Applied Games department have come together to celebrate their final university chapter as part of the Caledonian Creates exhibition.
The event allowed final year students to showcase their final projects with classmates, friends and family. The event is also attended by GCU Alumni, as well as guests from the video game and digital design industry.
As well as having the chance to celebrate with family and friends, the exhibition also allows students to network with potential employers.
“It feels incredibly gratifying! It’s quite a bizarre feeling since your completed work alongside all of your classmates. We’ve all been with each other on this journey since day one, so it feels great to see that we have all made it to this point.” Explained Computer Games (Art & Animation) student Lewis Ford.
He added: “It’s weird getting to see everyone’s final work! When you’re working on it, you tend to stay in your own bubble so it’s fascinating to see what everyone else has come up with. Everyone has done so well which is great to see!
With a months away from graduation, students were happy to have this final celebration as a way of closing a chapter on their lives. Computer Games (Software Development) student Callum Coutts felt emotional to be reaching the end of his degree.
He said: “It feels like the end of a chapter but now we can move onto the next one. I’m nervous about that, but excited!
It’s great to see everyone else’s work, especially as we don’t often get the chance to see what everyone has been working on.”
