GCU welcomes first non-EU student to take part in European Project Semester
GCU has recently held their annual European Project Semester, where they welcomed their first ever non-EU student to take part.
The European Project Semester is a 15 week programme and includes students from 19 different universities around Europe. The students are split into teams and are assigned real-life engineering projects proposed by national and international companies.
Anisha Arora, who studies at Chitkara University in India, completed the European Project Semester (EPS) and is the first non-EU student to do so.
Anisha is very proud to have represented her university. She said: “I am from India and it is the first time that a non-European student has taken part in European Project Semester programme.
I feel really proud and happy that I could represent my home university (Chitkara University) at an international level at Glasgow Caledonian University. I hope the hard work I put into the EPS program will inspire more Indian students to participate in EPS programme in the coming future.
I would like to convey my sincere thanks to Glasgow Caledonian University and Chitkara University for giving me this opportunity which I am going to cherish forever.”
Anisha thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the EPS. She said: “Working with students from various parts of Europe was really a great experience for me.
The industrial project that was assigned to my team was 'Bumblebee counter and recognition' by the organization RSA Scotland. RSA Scotland and GCU was always there for all of the EPS students until the very end of the project. I can now say that I am industry ready and can now handle real world industrial projects with ease.
EPS is really a great way to make you industry ready and I would recommend everyone to take part in this programme.”
