Summary of content

In this module students will be introduced to concepts of creativity (intentional and spontaneous) and the centrality of this in the life of a professional writer. Issues around where imagination springs from and how to harness this within our work, dealing with “writer’s block,” and the psychology of invention. These will be applied to the creation of authentic characters, and the
development of the student’s authorial voice through the development of ideas and premises for both the 60 minute script and the Independent Script Project. Self-reflection, groupwork and peer feedback will key features of the module.
