Summary of content

The module considers aspects of accounting of key importance to the management of global firms. Students will be exposed to detailed analysis of financial statements prepared in accordance with international accounting standards, short and long term financing decisions, financial governance and accounting techniques for decision making, planning and control. The module also applies accounting to the needs of managers ensuring that students' business knowledge will be broadened but will also value its relevance to their future careers. The internal auditing section will allow students to evaluate systems to ensure integrity of financial records and reports aligned to corporate governance principles in the pursuance of global corporate social responsibility and ethical business practice. The module places emphasis on financial management practices and techniques in an international context.
