Summary of content
This module focuses on the strategic alignment of projects within an organisation’s portfolio to achieve long-term objectives. Students will explore frameworks and methodologies for selecting, prioritising, and managing multiple projects in a portfolio context. Emphasis will be placed on business strategy, governance, resource optimisation, risk balancing, and performance measurement across projects. Through study of case examples, deep dive techniques, exercises and discussion of their own personal reflective stories, students will accumulate insights about the nuances of portfolio managed companies and raise awareness of their own style and preferences as management practitioners. This learning might act as a foundation for preparing students to lead complex, multi-project environments ethically and effectively, and for continuing professional development activities towards becoming effective senior managers. The module will integrate theory with practical tools for portfolio analysis and decision-making, preparing students to lead complex, multi-project environments ethically and effectively.
