Summary of content
This module aims to develop a knowledge and understanding of the role and importance of supply chains in modern organisations. Students will develop a critical understanding of the principles of supply chain management, supply chain strategies, decision making and supply chain processes. They will also explore the concepts of building strategic supply chain partnerships and the application of innovative technologies for supply chain integration. Students will analyse the operation of existing global supply chains, across different organisations and industry sectors, through a business simulation and case study analysis, whilst exploring the key challenges faced within a globalised supply chain environment. Students will have the opportunity to develop their theoretical knowledge and understanding and apply it with a practical business setting. The module is an essential component of the Programme as the subject content is required for CIPS, CILT and IOM accreditation.
