Summary of content

The underlying philosophy of this module is to take a critical in-depth view of the techniques of Production and Operations Management. It will also examine modern manufacturing technologies such as FMS, CADCAM and CIM.
The aim is to further develop the student's critical understanding of:
* the principles of Production and Operation Management and Manufacturing Systems
* the tools and information necessary to take operations decisions, at strategic and lower levels
* FMS, CADCAM and CIM their uses and applications, advantages and disadvantages and systems design and implementation
