Summary of content
This module covers the topics of energy audit and asset management in industrial processes. It provides an understanding of the basic concepts and exposure to the relevant international standards in the areas of interests before it focuses the strategies and procedures of carrying out energy audit and asset management. Using case studies throughout, the module will examine the techniques for energy audit, managing energy usage, analysis of factors affecting energy efficiency of plant, and cost benefit analysis of introducing alternative strategies and technologies. In asset management, the module, through case studies, will focus on life cycle management, including commissioning/decommissioning of equipment, techniques available for condition monitoring and statistical tools for remaining life and risk analysis.
