Summary of content

This module is concerned with obtaining, organising and evaluating information relevant to identified or alleged offenders. Through addressing particular target groups and areas for formulation and decision-making, it adds substantially to the knowledge of crime, related factors, and those impacted upon by offending. This module relates to material covered in other modules such as ethical decision making, theories of crime, the impact of offending, and communicating psychological findings to offenders and other professionals. This module affords student the opportunity to consider and review a range of different assessment tools. While this module will not equip students to conduct psychological assessments autonomously, it does offer the opportunity to expand their theoretical knowledge of a suite of tools commonly used within forensic practice.
