Summary of content

This module looks at the respective roles of policing and other organisations within a criminal justice framework. Similarities and differences between settings, the role and impact of research, culture, and policy and professional frame works will be considered. Students will learn what the evidence suggestions in relation to best practice in working with clients and difficulties in applying or implementing these recommendations. In order to enhance student development as professionals the module will include material on reflective practice, both the theory and the application. This module is intended to act as a foundation to provide students with good understanding of the key features of working in different forensic settings.
