Summary of content

This module is concerned with providing an introductory framework for the operation of the criminal and civil justice systems of Scotland, England and Wales and highlighting the contributions psychology can make to understanding the behaviour and decision-making of key parties. Developments in psychological practice, including exercise of the expert witness role, are also considered. The impact of international legislation, practice and legal processes upon the work of forensic psychologists is also discussed.
