Summary of content

This capstone module will prepare students for contemporary practice, developing their critical understanding of local and global issues affecting justice and occupational participation. The module consolidates and extends students’ understanding of occupational therapy practice, theory, and evidence, with a focus on addressing inequality and injustice through occupation-centred approaches. Students will critically explore emerging trends, current debates, and innovative practices within the profession, drawing on interdisciplinary and global perspectives. Key themes include social, technological and political trends, population needs and innovation in service delivery and professional roles. Through critical reflection and inquiry, the module aims to develop practitioners ready to be responsive to the complex and evolving needs of diverse populations.
