Summary of content
This module integrates academic learning, professional standards, and practical skills to support students in starting to become reflective, evidence-informed, person-centred, and ethically grounded occupational therapy practitioners. Students will engage with the practical application of the occupational therapy process, through the unique lens of person, occupation and environment. The module also focuses on the development and critical evaluation of professional and practice skills commonly used by occupational therapists. A key component of the module is the examination of professional, ethical, and regulatory standards and how these standards guide safe, equitable and effective practice. Students will also be introduced to evidence-based practice and research methodologies used within health and social care and consider application to practice.
