Summary of content

This theory-based module consists of an agenda of issues relating to the art and science of nursing. It embraces the concepts of health, person, environment and nurse to inform an understanding of holistic nursing practice. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of nursing frameworks in addition to health, strategies for healthcare delivery and political drivers to enable a critical reflection of contemporary nursing and healthcare practice. The motivation to 'do good' is the embodiment of the art and science of nursing, and students will develop an understanding of how to creatively pursue excellence in care in the 21st century. The Common Good values of integrity, creativity and responsibility are core to the module.
