Summary of content

Cancer is one of the major causes of death in the western world (1 in 2 people will develop cancer in their lifetime), this area is currently the focus of extensive biochemical physiological and immunological research. The module will provide the student with the opportunity to study current clinical practise with regards to advances in diagnostic techniques, non-invasive disease monitoring and management/treatment of cancer.

The module will provide a thorough grounding of current knowledge and emerging technologies within the NHS for patient diagnosis, including the use of molecular biomarkers and blood screening, as well as digital pathology and AI software.
