Summary of content
Graduate Talent Employability provides a self-reflexive learning platform to help propel students into the graduate realm. It is fast-paced, innovative and places the student at the centre of a learning experience, which is personal to them. As the capstone module of the Employability and Work Experience Shared Framework, it allows the student to make sense of identified strengths and weaknesses, using pertinent evidence across both life and educational journeys, to enable realistic, strategic and well-informed plans for their professional futures post-graduation (aligned with the key competencies of GCU’s education for sustainable development).
The module allows all accessing L4 Graduate Talent in the making to take stock of their own knowledge, skills, attributes, behaviours, development, ambitions and potential. It will measure these against the requirements of the framework of Business graduate job markets and other opportunities (such as post-graduate study) and enable the formation of individual plans based on real jobs and market requirements. With an overall aim to increase self and occupational awareness, focus will be on ‘work-readiness’ with 4 themes of The Reflective Practitioner, Graduate Professional Identity & Behaviours, Employability & Career Development and Preparing for Success in Graduate Recruitment & Selection. A portfolio approach will allow all students (not matter when they started their GCU journey) to critically reflect on what they have already achieved and to identify and plan for what is needed to succeed in their graduate professional roles.
