Summary of content

1. Analyse in depth the issues which drive conservation:- legal, financial, social and political.
2. Evaluate the historical factors which define the conservation direction: research, historical period, survey, report.
3. Investigate specialised areas ranging from the wider issues described in 1. above to the more aesthetic and practical parameters such as ecclesiastical aspects, stonework, glass, lead, timber etc.
4. To understand the balanced problem through specific case studies including distortion recording surveys, and student centred specialised project course work.
