Teaching / learning strategy arrow_forward The teaching and learning strategy supports students in preparing to transition from learners to entry level practitioners. Through placement induction a combination of lecture material, tutorials, seminars and practical sessions will be undertaken to provide preparatory content and skills for practice. During placement, students engage in immersive experiential learning, taking on increasing responsibility, allowing for increasing autonomy through the placement, and to a level relevant to the practice context. Supervision and peer support, where available, encourage reflective practice and critical self-evaluation. Post-placement activities focus on consolidating learning and preparing for professional registration. Continuous assessment with formative feedback during placement will guide students toward confident, competent practice. Summative assessment via practice educator evaluation, will assess students’ ability to meet learning outcomes and ensure they meet the standards for entry into the profession.
