Summary of content
This module is designed to support practitioners to meet the challenges and demands of delivering safe, effective person-centred care to for those presenting with a major illness to emergency departments, acute medical/surgical receiving units, ambulatory care units, primary care settings and out of hour's centres. The module promotes the development of problems solving and decision making skills to support and underpin the development of this specialist clinical practice. Consequently, those undertaking this module will be supported to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to safely, effectively and responsibly assess and manage the care of those presenting with a major illness.
