Summary of content

This module builds on the beginner practice experience and develops students’ understanding of occupational therapy practice through a structured, supervised placement. This placement supports students in developing greater autonomy, clinical reasoning, and confidence in applying occupational therapy theory to practice. Students are expected to contribute more actively to assessments, intervention planning, and service-user engagement. The module emphasises professional identity development, ethical decision-making, and interprofessional collaboration. Reflective practice and supervision continue to underpin learning, with students encouraged to critically analyse their performance and integrate evidence-based approaches into their work.
