Summary of content Recent NHS and government reports indicate that the delivery of successful health and social care services is dependent on effective and transformational leadership. This module therefore seeks to facilitate the development of values-based, resilient and reflective leaders that can use their influence to inspire and support others, drive service improvement and ensure clinical quality and excellence. Throughout the module, leadership will be explored across 3 levels: leadership of self, leadership of others and leadership for service and quality improvement
Module details Syllabus arrow_forward The syllabus seeks to provide an overview of the contemporary organisational, professional, policy and legal leadership contexts in which Paramedics operate. You will explore these concepts across 3 levels: Leadership of self Explore both the key concepts and theoretical frameworks underpinning effective leadership Develop insight into your own leadership qualities and behaviours. -Development of your leadership skills and characteristics as a means of maximising your confidence, emotional and behavioural intelligence and overall potential. -Knowing and leveraging your strengths and limitations through reflection and 360feedback, you will develop the skills to lead ethically through evidence and values-based practice. Teaching / learning strategy arrow_forward Delivered via blended learning, and utilising a flipped approach, the module content is designed to enable the student to meet the learning outcomes. Face-to-face lectures, enquiry-based tutorials, student-led debates and simulated activities will be complemented by directed, independent and peer group learning. In order to situate their learning, students will be asked to reflect on and share their experiences in order to 'problem-solve' issues they have been exposed to in practice. Blackboard will be used as both a repository for material (such as links to wider research, scholarship and policy) and a learning vehicle for online tools and activities (such as online lectures and group work, narrated presentations and student-led blogs and discussion boards). As well as promoting a community cohort identity, the interactivity, range and diversity of the teaching and learning methods will enhance inclusivity, widen accessibility and generate engagement.
