Summary of content

In this module students will be cover in depth, the various requirements and corrections for dispensing in different occupations, hobbies and for other specialist frame or optical fitting requirements. This will include vision standards for key occupations, optical appliances used for safety and protection, eye protection regulations, visual ergonomics and use of visual display units and special devices used for sports and hobbies such as sports googles and shooting glasses. The module will also cover lighting and illumination, as well as the use of tints and filter to control transmission of light for different tasks. Lastly, this module will also include practical dispensing of spectacle frames for individuals who struggle with standard spectacle fitting such as cases of ptosis, hearing aids and other facial anomalies.
