Summary of content

This module considers rights to things in the broadest sense (including rights of ownership, leases, rights in security over things) and considers how such rights are created, held in trust, transferred, and extinguished. In short, the traditional content of a property law module. The emphasis will be on rights relating to land and buildings (including the Land Register, servitudes, title conditions and tenement properties), and will contextualise existing legal rights and developments in land reform in contemporary Scotland.

Successfully completing this module is a necessary part of the LLB foundation programme, accredited by the Law Society of Scotland.
