Summary of content

Knowledge of the law and the skills developed in a law degree are valuable in a range of sectors – from the traditional legal profession; to the broader advisory sector; to the development of policy; to human resources management; to accounting and finance. Similarly, law graduates will go on to work with a range of stakeholders and clients – from vulnerable persons to business clients.

This core LLB module focuses on the acquisition of the transferable, practical skills required to pursue careers where knowledge of the law is valued. Students are also introduced to reflective practice in order to help them foster career proactivity and make decisions about their own future career trajectories.

Successfully completing this module is an essential part of the LLB foundation programme, accredited by the Law Society of Scotland.
