Teaching / learning strategy arrow_forward The teaching and learning strategy supports students in transitioning from academic learning to professional practice. Through placement induction a combination of lecture material, tutorials, seminars and practical sessions will be undertaken, with a focus on preparatory skills-based sessions using a variety of practical and active learning strategies, e.g. case based scenarios, simulation and developing reflective practice skills. During placement, students engage in experiential learning through observation, shadowing, and supervised participation in the occupational therapy process. Reflective practice is encouraged through supervision sessions, and peer discussions where available. Post-placement activities focus on active self-reflection and consolidation of learning. Continuous assessment with formative feedback during placement will help students develop self-awareness, professional identity, and foundational professional reasoning skills.
