Summary of content
This module builds upon the foundational knowledge and skills that students will have developed in “Clinical and Professional Studies 1”. Students will be introduced to key concepts related to capacity, consent and safeguarding of patients, and the provision of equitable care. A holistic, patient-centred approach to clinical practice will be developed, and students will learn how to adapt their approach to suit a diverse range of patient needs. Communication skills will be further developed. In tutorial and practical sessions, students will have the opportunity to discuss clinical cases and to observe and reflect upon real-life clinical work. Together, the integrated programme of lectures, interactive tutorials and practical sessions will allow students to consolidate knowledge gained across concurrent modules and to consider their own professional and clinical development through reflective practices.
