Summary of content

The module was developed in order that students begin the transition to working independently and engaging in independent research at an early stage in their university studies.

The module has two overriding aims:
i. It seeks to contextualise accounting;
ii. It is intended to help develop generic skills (including lifelong learning skills).

In order to achieve these aims, the module addresses relevant and emergent societal issues as well as providing both an organisational and a professional contextualisation for accounting.
