Summary of content

This core module introduces students to the substantive criminal law and law of evidence of Scotland. In this module, students will explore key common law and statutory offences, including crimes against the person, crimes of dishonesty and crimes against public justice. Students will also be introduced to the main ideas in the law of evidence, including concepts of relevance, admissibility and sufficiency of evidence in criminal cases, including the concept of corroboration.

Successfully completing this module is an essential part of the LLB foundation programme, accredited by the Law Society of Scotland.
