Summary of content This module introduces students to occupational therapy practice through a structured, supervised placement at an early developmental stage. It focuses on beginning to develop foundational professional behaviours, communication skills, and an understanding of the occupational therapy role. It combines placement induction, on-site placement experience, and post-placement reflection to support students to begin to understand the role of occupational therapy and develop their own professional and reflection skills.

Teaching / learning strategy arrow_forward The teaching and learning strategy will support students to develop professional behaviours and foundational practice skills. Through placement induction a combination of lecture material, seminars, and practical sessions will be undertaken to provide preparatory content and development of skills for practice. During placement, students engage in immersive experiential learning, applying developed skills in a real world setting through observation and participation.
