Summary of content

This foundational module introduces students to key factors affecting occupational performance, including anatomical structures and a range of health conditions. Using an occupational perspective and biopsychosocial frameworks, students will explore the interrelationship between occupational performance, health, and wellbeing.

Students will be introduced to the morphological features of the human skeleton, including major joints and prime movers, with a focus on how structure and dysfunction impact movement and occupational engagement.

Students will examine how body functions, in combination with other personal and environmental factors, influence occupational performance and participation. The module will also explore the prevalence and aetiology of conditions considering their impact on individuals' engagement with occupation.
