Summary of content

This module will initiate the process of professional socialisation by exploring the history and development of occupational therapy and occupational science. The module will examine the meaning and purpose of occupation and its relationship to health and wellbeing, highlighting its importance within the profession.

Students will engage with a range of models of practice to explore key concepts and foundational principles of occupational therapy and occupational science.

Students will develop understanding that occupational therapy and occupational science as foundational disciplines that support individual health and wellbeing and promote equity, participation, and meaningful occupation.
