The focused ultrasound competency based CPD course is designed to, culminate in a GCU CASE accredited award of 'Certificate of Competence to Practice Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound Screening' be predominantly work-based within a recognised placement under the supervision of a named AAA screening mentor be assessed through a practice based appraisal undertaken by a nominated external assessor (who will usually be the trainee's mentor) include a two day workshop comprising key note lectures and practical sessions using AAAS equipment to meet the learning outcomes. offer distance learning support including key note lectures and directed learning tasks delivered through the university's virtual learning environment (VLE) GCU Learn enable experienced route trainees to be credited with prior Ultrasound learning appropriately provide flexible training routes to meet service requirements .
