Summary of content

This module introduces students to scientific enquiry and the role of evidence based practice to nursing. Students will learn about the types of evidence within evidence based practice in nursing, how to source research articles using key databases and how to read and understand journal articles. Students will develop their literature searching and scientific writing skills, including using references to support their work, descriptive academic writing, correct terminology, structure and writing in the 3rd person. They will also learn about the basic philosophy of science and implementing evidence into real world practice.
