Summary of content

In this module, students will develop a fundamental knowledge and understanding of the structure and function of the body, particularly concentrating on the eye and
ocular adnexa. Through a programme of pre-recorded lectures, students will be introduced to fundamental principles of human and ocular anatomy and will learn about the embryology of the eye and visual system. Students will develop a detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the skull and orbit, as well as key structures of the eye and surrounding tissues. In accompanying face to face practical and tutorial sessions, students will have the opportunity to consolidate theoretical knowledge gained in lectures through a series of laboratory-based exercises and interactive learning sessions.
