Summary of content

In this module, students will be introduced to the fundamental principles of professionalism and ethics as they relate to healthcare and will learn about the key professional and legal obligations of eyecare professionals. Students will develop skills for effective communication and will learn how to apply these to clinical settings. In tutorial and practical sessions, students will have the opportunity to discuss clinical cases and to observe and reflect upon real-life clinical work. Together, the integrated portfolio of lectures, interactive tutorials and practical sessions will allow students to consolidate knowledge gained across concurrent modules and to consider their own professional and clinical development through reflective practices.
